We are just days away from the premiere of “Bridgeton’s” third season and ‘Ton’s most anticipated union between Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan). For those who believe in love but have never had the opportunity to be the main character in their fairytale and for the wallflowers who choose their books as a companion. This season is for you.
Another reason this season is special is because of actress Nicola Coughlan. She is our newest leading lady, and like those before her, we know she will not disappoint. One thing I appreciate about the “Bridgeton” franchise is how believable the on-air romance seems; the chemistry is undeniable. So, people can’t help but wonder whether Coughlan and her co-star, Luke Newton, are an item.
Is Nicola Coughlan Dating Co-Star Luke Newton?
Sadly, these two aren’t together, but I wouldn’t be mad if they ever decided to make things official #Polin. The rumors started to fly when the two held hands at the Australian lunch event for Season 3. Since then, a close source to the actors has told PEOPLE that “they are not dating.” Coughlan is single but was romantically linked to “Derry Girls” co-star Laurie Kynaston in 2021.
However, those dating rumors weren’t confirmed or denied. But that doesn’t stop Coughlan from teasing fans about her spicy scenes with Newton. The Irish actress admits to unintentionally breaking furniture with her co-star on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”
In another interview with SiriusXM Hits, she also revealed that her and Newton found the entire filming process funny.
“We would be like, in between scenes, and they were like, ‘Do you wanna get up and put your clothes on?’ We’re like, ‘We’ll just chill here.’ Like, in under the blankets,” she recalled. “But then we have the advantage of knowing each other for years.”
Who Has Luke Newton Dated?
Newton is also single. He most recently dated “West End” actress Jade Davies, but the two split in 2023. There are also rumors that he dated his “The Lodge” co-star Sophie Simnett, but it was never confirmed. Meaning we might still have a chance of #Polin becoming a thing.
