Traveling rejuvenates me in just about every way possible– except when it comes to my skin. Combining the added stress of travel, dry in-flight air, and varying atmospheric conditions means my pimple patches and setting powder have their work cut out for them.
My esthetician, Chanel Lowe of Chanel Esthetics, reassured me that the stress of travel impacts a lot of other people’s skin, too, which explains all the “GRWM inside of an airplane” videos.
“Everyone’s skin responds differently during travel, especially depending on where you’re going and what atmospheric conditions you experience. It’s common for people’s skin to respond well to higher humidity levels, so going somewhere tropical would probably be good for your skin.”
Chanel continues, “Also, if you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun and have sensitive skin, your skin may need even more support with soothing skincare ingredients and suncare.”
I’m (unfortunately) not always traveling somewhere tropical. And if I am, it might not be the best time of year to get that tropical glow. So, what can I do to support my skin?
If I were in the comfort of my own home, I would use a humidifier to help my skin retain moisture when I sleep, but it’s far too large to pack when I travel. So, when Hey Dewy released their new Wireless Facial Humidifier, I jumped at the opportunity to give my skin the same love I get at home– on the road.
Meet Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier
This small, but mighty wireless, rechargeable facial humidifier by Hey Dewy comes in 5 different color options that can fit any aesthetic. On one full battery charge, the wireless facial humidifier gives you up to 8 hours of mist using ultrasonic wave technology making for a quiet device that effortlessly incorporates into any home environment at a $60 price point.
From unboxing to humidifying, this device takes less than 5 minutes to set up, although I do recommend charging it fully before your first use. A 5’ USB power cord is included with the humidifier along with one 6.5” filter and a brief instruction manual. Additional filters are available for purchase on Hey Dewy’s website.
Is Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier really worth it?
I’ve been using Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier for about 2 months now, and I’ve noticed that my combination (oily-leaning) skin has been more supple and radiant since I started using it.
And even though I love this humidifier, I do recommend consulting with your dermatologist or esthetician before making any skin-related investments. When I consulted mine, she endorsed my use of the device noting that it’s definitely a “luxury” (read: a nice-to-have, not a need), and can help with product absorption.
She recommended that I pair use of the facial humidifier with hydrating serums, and wrap up my skincare routine with an occlusive to seal in all the added moisture the machine provides.
I cannot overstate how cute and easily portable this facial humidifier truly is. I move it from my office to my nightstand and back without batting an eyelash. It’s like taking your water cup from one room to the next.
One gripe I have with humidifiers is that they’re notoriously difficult to clean, but Hey Dewy manages to avoid that! There are very few components to the facial humidifier, and you can take everything apart with a few twists. The easy disassembly makes cleaning and changing the filter a breeze.
Since keeping humidifiers clean is the most important part of owning them, Hey Dewy gets bonus points for making the process easier.
Unfortunately, if you like to add essential oils to your humidifier, you should look elsewhere for a device. This humidifier is specifically for the face, and Hey Dewy recommends against adding essential oils to the device as they can sensitize skin.

I love to take Hey Dewy’s humidifier on the road with me to use during my post-flight skincare. I also like to let it run while I’m sleeping. Even though it’s not built to humidify a large room like some humidifiers, I’ve found that it does what it needs to do if I put it pretty close to my face on my nightstand.
Overall, for the price point, this humidifier is an easy win in the portable device category!
